We bring out the best in girls by providing educational, interpersonal, and experiential opportunities to strengthen each girl's natural gifts.
We provide a safe, loving,
non-competitive buffer to social norms and media values that promotes resiliency and authenticity allowing our girls to live at their highest level of self.
We celebrate girls, we affirm their experience, and we strategize with them to develop their passions because it holds their purpose. With our psychological background we create internally rich experiences for girls to develop themselves. Our peer mentoring of girls that are advanced or have completed our groups create a broad community of acceptance.
The GEC was founded in 2008 by JoHanna Jones LMFT. JoHanna Jones is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in parenting and adolescence. JoHanna was raised in Thousand Oaks and stayed to raise her own family in the town she loves so much. She is known for her dynamic and inspiring talks on authenticity and values centered parenting and is often requested to speak at CLU and Pepperdine.
The programs are based on the beliefs that girls are amazing and when given the proper growing environment and opportunities have the desire to become everything they were meant to be.
“This place rocks! The best I have learned so far is not to be too passive when my feelings get hurt. I also get to share my feelings away from school and learn ways to handle different situations.” –Emma
