Welcome to The Girls’ Empowerment Center!!!!

It is a difficult time in our society to be a girl. We are flooded with so many mixed messages on how and who to be that often we feel lost and unimportant.  The media starts to portray us as sex objects as early as 10! It’s no wonder we have a hard time figuring out who we really are. Let’s not even start with the all of bullying in school and online! We are besties one day and are enemies the next. Being a girl is complicated-fun but complicated.
As a result of increased peer pressure and media influence, girls are being diverted from fulfilling their potential academically and as leaders in the community. Instead, there is an increase of self harming behaviors, depression, anxiety, drug use, early sexual activity, and eating disorders. All of these are being noted in schools and in the press.   It is our goal to act as a buffer against the crazy outside world and provide a safe and nurturing place for girls find out who they are and what they can do! Browse out our site, read our blogs, and come check us out in person!!!
